Our Team

Michael Hurst Michael Hurst
Founder, CEO & President
Michael Hurst is a veteran of the life science community. Prior to launching ChloroFill LLC, Michael spent his career in engineering and management at Fortune 500 and leading technology companies, including Beckman Instruments and Illumina, Inc. His experience also includes integration of early PDA's with GPS devices for military, government and commercial purposes. After spending most of his career supporting the fight against cancer and other disease, Michael was driven by the idea of green, cost effective means of preventing cancer such as renewable building materials, which not only save trees, but also do not emit carcinogenic formaldehyde. Since founding ChloroFill LLC, he has successfully fostered collaborative relationships with leading American and Chinese universities and plans to market the companies' green building materials globally. Michael has served on the Board of Directors for InvestClub USA, LLC, AbInitio Pharmacodynamics, LLP, and PadrePad, LLC.

lou Hess Lou Hess
Chief Operating Officer
Lou Hess was Chief Executive of SmartPly Europe, a former joint venture company of Louisiana Pacific and Coillte, the semi-state Irish forestry board. Lou led the company to OSB market leadership in the UK and Irish markets during a period of over ten years.

He holds an MBA in Finance from DePaul University in Chicago, has done post-graduate studies at INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France, and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Management and Polymer Science from the University of Illinois.
